  how much does a persons avatar affect how you view them?

  i mean, don't you picture the avatar when you think of the person, if that's all you have to go by?

  i know i do, at least if the avy is a photo of a human.

  I don't know about anyone else but I do wonder sometimes what people think when they see my avatar....I change it from time to time but usually keep it my own face....does that come across as vain?

  Nahh. You get your hair cut, don't you? You buy new clothes. Changing you avatar just shows a normal concern for freshening your appearance and for how people view you.

  I'm starting to feel like a wuss for not posting my real picture, BTW. Guess that shows I'm making headway, losing fear of the ol' borgski.

  Fred Sanford the canterkous, mean, foul mouthed, yet loving and caring at times?

  GMFH: I love Fred Sanford. Made me think we have something in common when I saw your avatar. Your old one with the pig tails and freaky face was another perfect example of what I meant. I pictured you as a large white guy in his early twenties that liked to wear dresses and such, kind of like Shannon Hoon, the late singer for Blind Melon. Obviously way off the mark (I think). That picture was a classic, dummy!!

  just two months before (feb04) were instructions on how to make hotel and motel reservations and has these mind-numbing gems: (they're on page 8) .

  So let me get this straight. If there are no more available rooms, I should call another hotel? Should I hang up before proceeding? What do I do if the next hotel is full? Should I eat on the way to the hotel? Arriving at the front desk with a crumb on my shirt could "detract from the message." Is it worth the risk for a few moments of fleeting pleasure?

I know I do, at least if the avy is a photo of a human. Case in point, Dustyb. He can post all the photos he wants, but in my mind he is that red-faced moron of the avatar.

  Another question: Have you ever wanted to make fun of someone's picture, say something like where did you find that one? Only trouble is you don't know if that is really them. I won't mention any names here, but you ugly avys know who you are.

  P.S. I came across one of those red M&M figures at someone's house, and my first subconscious thought was "Minimus." This place is weird, man.

  a few weeks passed and nothing.

  but just tonight a complete stranger walks up to me like we're old buds and asks, "how's that car running?

  For anyone who cares, yes, I am paranoid, it has been confirmed. I saw the real JW yesterday while cleaning my car. It was 15 minutes before the meeting for service, and this buttoned down typical JW-type comes out of the building in full gear. He even had the bookbag on a strap that is oh-so-popular these days with the younger doomsday set. To top it off, he came back 30 minutes later followed by a car-full of dubs who took him along in their ride. I happened to see them return at 12:30 to drop him off. Ladies and gentlemen, here is your witness.

  Oh well, at least this thread got some interesting responses, and it inspired Gary to crack a good one. To all you who pegged me as the paranoid type, here's to ya!!

  more than ever, we use our computers and printers to write whatever we need to write.

  it's neat and we can edit our mistakes without anybody noticing.

  but on the other hand, we practise less and less our handwriting.

  Passing the time at JW Assemblies

  love_truth, in describing the utter dullness of jw assemblies and conventions, just gave me an interesting idea for a thread.

  what were some of the ways you tried to make the hours pass?

  some of mine: looking at the interesting refracting patterns the arena floodlights made on my eyeglasses when looking thru them at an angle.looking for people i knew from my congregation and others in the mass of people in the arena.counting the number of people leaving the section to go to the bathroompractice writing people's names in elvish scripthaving a conversation with friends a row behind me by passing notes back and forthseeing how many pages of my bible stick together when i slam a wad of gum in between its pages.. what else?

  Anyway, when my would be wife an me were courting, it was a cold day at Plymouth convention an we were huddled up underneath a blanket on the terraces, we whisperted in each others ears.

  Ten minutes later, she was wanking me off beautifully whilst I played with her clitoris, keepin straight face was difficult, but ruddy well worth the orgasms that followed.
